NITIŠS TO RACE IN 1006KM ENDURANCE RACE IN PALANGA

JĒKABPILS, LATVIA
19/07/2018

This weekend, from July 19 to 21, Palanga will host a 1006km touring car endurance event, which, since 2000, has taken place on a track formed on the Palanga bypass roads. This year, Reinis Nitišs will be competing there for the first time.

“I have been following this event for the past few years, but there had never been an opportunity to race there myself. There were no plans to do it this year either, but I received an invitation from Estonian team ALM Motorsport,” says Reinis Nitišs. “We will be competing in a Seat Leon TCR, which is similar to the Audi RS3 LMS SEQ that I raced in for the 24 hours of Dubai this year. Because of that, I hope that getting used to the car will be a quick process, and I will be able to focus on setting fast and consistent lap times throughout the race weekend.”

Reinis Nitišs will compete as part of the ALM Motorsport team, along with Estonian Robin Vaks and Lithuanian Justas Jonušis. During the event, the Palanga bypass road and its viaduct will be closed for traffic to create a 2.68 km long circuit with 12 turns. 38 cars have been entered for the event, seven of which will be competing with Reinis and his team in TCR class.

In addition to the endurance race, the Palanga circuit will also have other activities taking place during the race weekend – a music festival, demo rides, activities with celebrities, activities for spectators and team mechanics.

1006km event results and live stream will be available on http://racing.lt.
