LOOKING FOR THE SWEDISH MAGIC

Today, the 2017 FIA World Rallycross Championship round World RX of Sweden, also known as The Magic Weekend, began in Höljes. Reinis Nitišs set the fourteenth and thirteenth times in qualifying, which puts the Jēkabpils native in twelfth position after day one. The event will conclude on Sunday with Q3, Q4, and the finals.

“In a way, both of my qualifying heats were similar. Both times, I was in a race with Jānis Baumanis, Timur Timerzyanov, and Kevin Hansen. In both heats, the positions were largely determined in the first corner and, despite doing clean laps afterwards, I was unable to get satisfactory results,” says Reinis Nitišs. “Unfortunately, my teammates were also struggling a bit. We are lacking speed on track, and becoming faster is going to be our main challenge for tomorrow. I am currently twelfth overall, but the points battle is very close and things can change in an instant!”
