Reinis Nitišs

EARNING TEAM POINTS IN SWEDEN

JĒKABPILS, LATVIA
29/06/2017

This weekend, the FIA World Rallycross Championship will visit Sweden, with the event taking place in Höljes, one of the most famous rallycross tracks on the planet. Jēkabpils native Reinis Nitišs has been nominated as a point scorer for EKS in this round, along with Finnish driver Toomas Heikkinen. Nitišs will replace Mattias Ekström, who will have to miss the Swedish round due to competing in a DTM championship event.

“The Swedish round is definitely among the most impressive events in the championship calendar. Atmosphere at the track is amazing and spectators come here not only to support their favourite drivers, but to spend a fantastic weekend at the track – which results in quite a few fans dressed in fun costumes. The track itself is very challenging and has multiple spots where you have to step out of your comfort zone to set a good time,” comments Reinis Nitišs.

“This race weekend will be a bit different from the others as Mattias will not be here, with PG Andersson driving his car in Höljes. It is going to be a new adventure for our team, but I am assured that we are prepared to handle any challenge that arises!”

Reinis Nitišs participation in the FIA World Rallycross Championship is possible thanks to the support of Lattelecom, Citadele, Latvijas Gāze, Ošukalns and the city of Jēkabpils, as well as Eibe-L, Hertz, If, Light Guide Optics International, OK Būvmateriāli, Radex, RA EVENTS, and Sonora. Informative support is provided by DELFI.
